AHA 6

Item:  AHA 6

Type:  Basket Maker Polychrome            Under Construction

Period:

Culture:  Anasazi

Material:  Yucca, willow, organic composite resin

Dimensions:  17 1/2" wide by 4 3/4" high

Physical Description:  A large polychrome basket with an open tray form.  The design consists of died stitching in a display of terraces, a star pattern and rectilinear elements all radiating from a central, circular element.

Condition Report:  This basket is in exceptionally good condition with signs of ancient usage ware to the interior.  One of the rods on the rim is cracked and has been re-glued and two willow rods near the center have minor stabilization repairs.

Determination of Authenticity:   Based on my experience and knowledge to date, a comprehensive analysis has revealed characteristics consistent with comparative baskets that are known to be from the basket maker period.
