Item: AHA 6 Type: Basket Maker Polychrome Under Construction Period: Culture: Anasazi Material: Yucca, willow, organic composite resin Dimensions: 17 1/2" wide by 4 3/4" high Physical Description: A large polychrome basket with an open tray form. The design consists of died stitching in a display of terraces, a star pattern and rectilinear elements all radiating from a central, circular element. Condition Report: This basket is in exceptionally good condition with signs of ancient usage ware to the interior. One of the rods on the rim is cracked and has been re-glued and two willow rods near the center have minor stabilization repairs. Determination of Authenticity: Based on my experience and knowledge to date, a comprehensive analysis has revealed characteristics consistent with comparative baskets that are known to be from the basket maker period.
